Assiniboine

Kinda feeling like I've been peaking out too much lately. Don't get me wrong, the best way to power-up the fitness is to mash up some vertical rock formation, however I've felt like I've needed to get back to my roots... horizontal-ish back-country mileage. Was up at 4:30am to load the car and head to Mt. Shark. 7 moose and 0 bears were between me and my goal today; Mount Assiniboine Anyways 55 magnificent kilometers later, I staggered back to the car to make it home just in time for bubby to rise from his nap and me to head for mine... parenting fail! Today ticks the first box on my 2015 major project list. Stay tuned for more weekend warrior's trail drama!

Mount Shark lures me away from the car with her east face lit up with morning light

A tributary to Bryant Creek en-route to Mount Assiniboine

Wild flower of the day; fireweed, blankets the meadows of Mount Assiniboine

Arguably the most stunning vista in the Canadian Rockies... Lake Magog and Mount Assiniboine, for once in good light.

Oodds n' Sods

A few images that have taken their time catching my interest and crying for development

Aspen lines in the snow

Autumn morning colors over Vermillion Lake

Vertical camera drag of Aspens in the fall in Banff National Park. Literally, there is no photoshop here. I've never shot an image that looked more like a painting!

About Me

Since I tend to spill my drink when moving at high speeds, I combine just two of my addictions: running and photography. I travel heavy with thousands of dollars of equipment in a $30 running backpack. That is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the stupidity I get into while fumbling around in my majestic backyard.
